The short version
Your voice data — imported posts, style profiles, memories, drafts — lives in your browser's local storage, on your device. It is never stored on our servers. Offhand never posts on your behalf.
What stays on your device
- Posts you import from your own X/LinkedIn profiles
- Your style profiles, memories, and never-say list
- Every draft the extension generates
What we store on our servers
- If you create an account: your email and a hashed password
- Your plan and draft counts (for free-trial limits and billing)
- Payments are processed by Dodo Payments — we never see card numbers
- Anonymous breakage reports (e.g. "insert failed on LinkedIn, v0.10.0") — no content, no identity, no browsing history
What happens when you generate a draft
The post or thread you're drafting for, any attached image URL, plus a relevant sample of your own posts and facts, is sent to our AI provider (OpenRouter) to write the draft, then discarded. It is not used to train models and we don't store it. If you configure your own OpenRouter key, requests go directly from your browser to OpenRouter under their privacy policy.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Offhand uses and transfers user data only to provide or improve the user-facing drafting feature. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or allow people to read it except when you explicitly ask for support, for security, or where required by law.
What we never do
- Post, comment, like, or follow on your behalf
- Read pages other than X and LinkedIn
- Sell or share your data with anyone
- Track your browsing
Data deletion
Removing the extension deletes all local voice data. To delete your account and server records, email us from your account address and we'll remove them within 30 days.
